The dawn of the Baha’i Faith witnessed the appearance of not one but two Manifestations of God, the Bab and Baha’u’llah, Whose Revelations released the spiritual forces destined to transform the world. Baha’is of the world celebrate the births of the Bab and Baha’u’llah, in quick succession—one right after the other on November 6 and 7. According to Baha’u’llah, “These two days are accounted as one in the sight of God”.

 

In late November of this year, Baha’is from around the world will commemorate the centenary anniversary of the passing of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, the eldest son and appointed successor of Baha’u’llah, the Prophet-Founder of the Baha’i Faith. He was the perfect example of Baha’i ethical teachings and an advocate for peace and harmony. During His ministry, through His writings and public speeches, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá contributed to the discourse of the society on many subjects including the equality of women and men, eradication of prejudice, oneness of religion, elimination of extreme wealth and poverty, and importance of a progressive governance. 

In remembrance of His extraordinary life of service to humanity and to commemorate the 100th anniversary of His passing, Rockville Baha’i community is holding a series of activities to contemplate upon the life and teachings of the beloved Master and to introduce Him to the community at large.
